Ballistic stretching

Definition:
A form of stretching that uses the momentum of a moving body in order to make it undergo motion beyond its normal Range. It involves bouncing into or out of a stretched position. Ballistic stretching is not a much recommended form of stretching as it can cause injury. This form of stretching is practiced to a limited extent by professional athletes who believe that this stretching can develop a muscle for activities that require bursts of speed.
