He is a
Columbia University Assistant Clinical
Professor of Surgery, a fellow of the American
College of Surgeons and a fellow of the
Royal Society of Medicine.



Dr. Belsley is Director of Robotic Surgery at St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. He performs laparoscopic gastric bypass, as well as the lap-band at St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital Center, an accredited American College of Surgery Center of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery. His clinical practice also includes complex hernias, reflux surgery and operations on the intestines ranging from the esophagus to the colon.


Credentials encompass fellowship training in robotics, advanced laparoscopic surgery as well as bariatric surgery. Dr. Belsley is as an active researcher and mentor at the SLRHC Robotics and Surgical Sciences Laboratory. He regularly presents pioneering research examining the evolving roles of robotics, NOTES and advanced laparoscopic techniques at both national and international meetings.
