Robotic Assisted CABG Using an Endoscopic Stabilizer:

The Da Vinci system was originally introduced to the United States market with the conception of facilitating the TECAB procedure- the Totally Endoscopic Coronary Artery Bypass. Due to advances in interventional cardiology, this procedure never became as accepted as a standard of care for heart surgery. This video highlights some clinical and research work at St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital performed during the early development of these procedures with the use of a device that allows the coronary arteries to be held stable to allow suturing on the beating heart.
