Scientific research is currently being conducted on the subject of nutrition and physical wellness. Numerous groups are collaborating to gain a greater understanding of the human body and how it processes food. Modern day food choices can be misleading, as many appear to be very appetizing, but lack in nutrition. A diet which is lacking nutrition, causes the development of deficiencies, illness and eventually diseases. By increasing our understanding about nutrition, we can make choices that align with the best possible food choices to promote overall health, the prevention of illnesses and improvements with how health problems are treated.

This collection of sites is focused on facilitating discussions concerning the leading scientific policies with regards to nutrition.  As energy output is directly related to energy input, these discussions also include research on physical activity. Discussions are focused on how to best pair exercise with diet to promote long term well-being, while reducing the occurrence of disease.

Nutrition.gov

Nutrition.gov is a service of the national agricultural library, U.S. Department of Agriculture. This is a valuable page with information on food safety as well as links to dietary guidelines from the US government.

American College of Nutrition

The American College of Nutrition was established in 1959 to foster scientific efforts related to nutrition. The college is committed to improving the existing knowledge in the field of nutrition and metabolism; it serves as a body that caters to the requirements of professionals who are related to nutrition; it provides a platform for the exchange of opinions and research results; the college encourages the inclusion of a well-defined nutritional curriculum in medical colleges.
